Just learned of the standing meditation yesterday, after two short attempts I am in love!!
The idea of visualizing what you want and stepping into that new life is so beautiful.
I started with alternate nostril breathing ~ nadi shodhana to ground myself into the mat. Yesterday, I thought of goals that consisted of dreams and good fortune. I pushed those thoughts away and dug deeper. Some thoughts consisted of loving my insides and growing confidence. I felt light I felt like I was floating which I have not felt on my mat since January. I took one last deep breath whilst raising my arms coming into prayer and I walked forward with my eyes closed. Once I got to the end of my mat I opened my eyes.
Today, I started the same, but only focused on loving my insides. Yesterday, I thought of too many things like a Christmas list. Honing in on one thought feels more powerful and genuine. I wanted to place my focus on one specific thought so I chose loving my insides again. I will be placing my focus on this in my day to day and in my meditations because I genuinely want to provide myself a safe space. I know that if anyone around me was going through what I have been going through I would provide them a safe space and encouragement, so why can't I provide that to myself?
I prayed a bit as well, thanking God for getting me to where I am and allowing me to hit a place where I could no longer hold on. I am grateful he did not allow me to stay comfortable in the position I was in. God and I both know there is a greater path for me than the one I was on.
Only two days in, I feel so grateful to have discovered standing meditation. I only read a bit on it from Becoming Supernatural, I can't wait to dive deeper.
